The last burned-acre report I heard gave the number of 87000 acres gone or going.
That’s freaking ridiculous.
And besides the obvious physical damage this fire is causing, there’s the added discomfort of the air quality being horrible. Honestly, we sleep with the back door open (because we have dogs), and the last few mornings, I’ve been waking up feeling like I’ve been smoking 2 packs of Camels every day for the last 20 years.
All of this is empty complaining, of course. Fire fighters out here have been working around the clock to get this thing contained, but to no avail. The weather is unforgiving, and as it turns out, fire tends to move… Fast. All we can do is keep the faith that they’ll make some headway soon so they can at least keep it from spreading further.
